The FERNANDES logo at this time was similar in font and style (particularly the F) to the Fender logo. The headstock shapes themselves were clones of the Fender strat and tele shapes. The tiny writing after FERNANDES reads either LIMITED EDITION (1982-85) or REVIVAL SERIES (1981-89).The tiny writing below FERNANDES reads Electric Sound Research Group.
The change here is not one of logo design or wording, but of headstock shape. The rounded nose of the strat-clone headstock is replaced with a kind of hook-shaped nose. Many FERNANDES guitars have been checked by us for more than a decade. I remove the neck and O2 03 was stamped on there with w79 in red. Fernandes Guitars S Serial Number On HisFernandes Guitars S Serial Number OnFernandes has almost never used a serial number on his guitars and basses, except on the first models released by the brand or on models manufactured by Tokai in the late 70s. This strategy was certainly intended to prevent an exact count of guitar and bass sales in the case of US trademark lawsuits. In addition to the serial numbers, there are a few things that can help define the manufacturing date of a Fernandes or Burny instrument.
